Media training

As a media trainer and message coach, I work with some of the UK’s largest charities, progressive businesses and public sector bodies to help spokespeople deliver confident broadcast interviews that cut through the noise.

I do this in 3 ways…

Simple, memorable tips and techniques you’ll remember long after the training.

Several mock radio and TV interviews on your subject, for programmes and formats you are most likely to be interviewed on.

Support with messaging, not just media skills to ensure what you say really connects with your audience and inspires the desired response.

Whether a complete beginner or an experienced broadcaster, launching a campaign or responding to a major crisis, I’ll help you calm your nerves, take control and deliver interviews that will resonate with your audiences, quickly.

The most common feedback I get is that people find my constructive critique straight after each interview really helpful in honing their performance, simplifying their messaging and building their confidence as the day goes on. The second most common feedback is that they found the day enjoyable, which they really weren’t expecting!

I have access to a couple of great little studios in central London run by practising broadcast producers offering charity rates and good availability.

Small group and individual sessions available, in-studio and online, over half and full days.

A typical media training day covers:

• Introduction to the media, what they need, your role as spokesperson and how to prepare, perform and deliver clear messages with confidence and impact.

• Up to 5 broadcast mock interviews (radio and TV) in studio / remote online on the most likely programmes and formats for your story/organisation.

• Bespoke interviews, based on a story or press materials you share with me in advance.

• Techniques and practice in handling difficult questions and taking back control.

• Practice, playback and analysis.

Let’s chat about your needs.
